Somebody's Knocking details how KATV's 7 On Your Side franchise got started in Arkansas and chronicles the lessons the author learned from his twenty years of chasing scoundrels and exposing scams as the face of that franchise. One unique feature: QR codes throughout the book allow the reader to watch some of the confrontations or stories being described on their smart phones while they read.

Jason Pederson is a Wisconsinite by birth and an Arkansan by choice. After 26+ years working as a television reporter in Arkansas, most of it as the "Seven On Your Side" reporter for KATV, he transitioned into a new career at the Arkansas Department of Human Services. Jason serves on the boards of the Salvation Army in Little Rock and Soaring Wings Ranch in Faulkner County. His participation in fundraisers for Youth Home has resulted in seven celebrity karaoke titles over the years. Jason married El Dorado native Mary Carol Spencer in 1995. They have also attended Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock since 1995. The Pedersons have two adult children, Spencer (24) and Shelby (22). They also have an adult "son-in-love," J.B., who is 38. J.B. and his wife Terra have a 14 year-old son Eli, so Jason is a Pop and Mary Carol is a Mema.
